Who are Pro Am Cycle Hire?
Pro Am Cycle Hire is a local business with a shopfront, established in 2005. This business has grown from a small local hire business to a trusted, reliable island wide provider with the largest range of hire equipment on the island.
Who are Pro Am Cycles?
Pro Am Cycle Hire started life as part of Multi-Hire in March 2005, as the business has grown over the years, we felt the need to separate the bikes from the general hire side of the business. This enables us to provide a professional, dedicated team of trained staff to concentrate their expertise on this side of the business.
What are your opening hours?
We are open Monday to Saturday 9am – 7pm and Sunday 9am – 2pm.
Do you deliver Hire equipment & bikes?
Yes, we can deliver all hire equipment including bikes, locally free of charge, during our opening hours. There may be a charge for longer distances or short hire periods, please ask when booking.
How easy is it to find your shop?
Take the Formentor road from the marina roundabout, turn left just before the Mar Senses hotel, follow the road round to the left, at the end, take the 1st left and we are just passed the 1st junction on the righthand side. If you are walking, walk along the pedestrianised front (Pine Walk), keeping the sea on your right, take the turning left just passed the Sis Pins hotel, our shop is 100m up that road on the left-hand side, opposite the Flora Aparthotel.
What does the Bike hire include?
Bike hire includes, helmet*, lock, spare tube (with road bikes), and a basic tool kit with multi tool, tyre levers, repair kit and pump. *It is a legal requirement in Spain for all cyclists to wear a helmet whilst cycling.What pedals do you have?The bikes can be fitted with either, flat, SPD SL, SPD or Look Keo pedals, we can also fit toe clips. We are happy to put your pedals on our bikes for you should you prefer to bring your own.
How do I find the spec on the bikes?
The website shows the spec of each bike, if you are unable to find any information you need, please contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Do you hire bike shoes?
Yes, we have road bike shoes for hire for 5€ per day, sizes from 37 – 48.
How do I book?
You can either book via the website or via email. We will confirm the hire by email and may request further information, i.e holiday accommodation name, GPS etc.For bike hire, we may ask for set up measurements, pedal requirements, etc.
Are there weight restrictions on hire equipment?
Yes, many items particularly baby and mobility hire equipment have weight restrictions, these will be detailed with the appropriate items on the website.
Do you have any cycling routes?
We have a good knowledge of the local area, maps, and a resident expert who can give you advice and tips, relevant to your experience and requirements, there are cycling routes on the website, we also have Garmins for rent.
Is bike insurance available?
Accidental damage cover can be added for 5€ per day. Cover is not available for theft or loss of the bike. Accidental damage cover insurance does not cover the bike if it is damaged whilst being used for cycling events, such as triathlons. You are responsible for damage or loss of any bike hired from us. Should a bike hired to you be stolen or damaged, you are responsible for the replacement cost or repair. Should you prefer to bring the bike back overnight, you can do so, within our opening hours.
What if I want to leave on a ride before you open?
Bikes can be collected the night before, provided they are available, at no additional cost.
What payment methods can I use?
Payment for bookings can be made online using our website, either by Paypal, credit or debit card or cash on delivery.
Do I need to pay a deposit when booking?
Yes, we ask for a 20% deposit to confirm your booking (minimum deposit 20€ per bike, and 50€ minimum for Road Bikes hire for 2 or more days).
What security deposit is required?
Credit card details are needed for security and are destroyed when the bike is returned and checked, we are unable to accept an American Express card for this.
What do I have to pay if I need to cancel a booking?
If a booking is cancelled by you for any reason, we will refund:
- The full amount, less a 20€ admin fee, if notified 29 days or more prior to the start date of your hire
- 50%, less a 20€ admin fee, if notified between 28 and 15 days prior to the start date of your hire
- 25%, less a 20€ admin fee, if notified between 14 and 8 days prior to the start date of your hire
- No refund will be made for booking cancelled between 7 days prior to, and the start date of your hire
- If you are cancelling due to a serious illness or death we will on production of a medical / death certificate refund the full amount, less a 20 euros admin fee.
- All cancellations are subject to a 20€ admin fee
